Open WebUI is a self-hosted browser interface for interacting with Ollama and OpenAI-compatible model APIs.
MyVibe provides a ready Open WebUI environment and keeps deployment controls such as domains, HTTPS, environment values, storage, logs, and service resources in one panel. The application and its data run within the resources of the MyVibe VPS plan you select.
Before You Deploy
Prepare a domain or subdomain for the application, decide who needs administrator access, and identify any external API, email, storage, or identity credentials the application requires. Store secrets in the environment controls instead of source code or public repositories.
Plus can host the interface when models run elsewhere. Local model workloads usually require Scale and remain dependent on model size and available CPU memory.
What the Template Includes
- Open WebUI application
- Persistent user data
- Model API connection
- Web chat endpoint
The exact container image and application version can change as the maintained MyVibe template is updated. Check the live template and the upstream release notes before a major production upgrade.
Deployment Checklist
- Open the MyVibe panel and create a new environment.
- Select the Open WebUI template and review the services it will create.
- Confirm the persistent volumes before storing production data.
- Add the required environment values and secrets.
- Attach the intended domain and enable HTTPS.
- Deploy the environment and wait for its services to report healthy.
- Open the application, complete its administrator setup, and remove or restrict any bootstrap access.
Configuration to Review
- Ollama or API base URL. Confirm this value before exposing the application to users.
- Provider keys. Confirm this value before exposing the application to users.
- User access. Confirm this value before exposing the application to users.
- Web search and tool settings. Confirm this value before exposing the application to users.
Do not publish a database, cache, administration port, or internal service unless an external client genuinely needs it. Prefer MyVibe's private application network for services used only by applications on the same server.
Verify the Deployment
After deployment, open the public HTTPS address and confirm that the application loads without certificate or redirect errors. Review the service logs for startup failures, verify that persistent data survives a controlled redeployment, and test the primary user workflow before inviting users.
For integrations, verify callback URLs, webhook endpoints, email delivery, and API permissions from the application itself. A healthy container does not guarantee that every external integration is configured correctly.
Security and Ongoing Operations
- Back up user data.
- Protect account registration.
- Monitor model connectivity.
- Update extensions carefully.
Use a unique administrator password and enable multi-factor authentication when Open WebUI supports it. Limit administrator access, rotate exposed credentials, and review upstream security notices. MyVibe simplifies deployment and runtime controls, but application-level accounts, configuration, data retention, and compatible updates remain the customer's responsibility.
Backups and Recovery
Back up every persistent component needed to reconstruct the application, not only the visible upload directory. Where Open WebUI uses a database, keep the database backup consistent with its files and service configuration. Test restoration to a separate environment before relying on a backup process for production recovery.
Record the domain, environment values, volume locations, connected services, and application version. Keep sensitive values in a password manager rather than in the recovery document.
Scaling and Troubleshooting
If the application becomes slow, inspect logs and resource usage before increasing the plan. Check memory pressure, CPU saturation, storage capacity, database connections, background workers, and queue depth where applicable. Scale the MyVibe plan when the workload consistently reaches its available resources.
For application-specific configuration and supported upgrade paths, use the official Open WebUI documentation. For MyVibe plan selection or deployment assistance, contact MyHBD.
